Another shot taken in Boracay last June 2009 via Canon Powershot A620 (point and shoot). The original shot was overexposed (again). Post processed it via LR. Yay for Lightroom! Not that I gave up on shooting these days, I’m really just hoping to get better at post processing photos by practicing more.
We had the yummiest lunch over at Metro by Tokyo Tokyo at Glorietta 5 in Makati. This was one of the dishes we had. The hubby ordered Melt in Your Mouth Braised Pork, Tuna Sashimi, Chicken Teriyaki Bento and Clams in Miso Soup. There is no way we’re eating in a Japanese resto without ordering Miso soup and this is the first time we had clams with it and in such interesting bowl to boot. :-)
Another overexposed shot taken in Boracay last June 2009, using our 5 year old Canon PowerShot A620, our trusty point and shoot camera.
Post processing can be fun but frustrating as well. I am not exactly very fond of watching videos via YouTube, which pretty much explains why I still cannot get the effect that I want in the photos that I post process. I can’t even get hold of a working Enfuse Plugin for Adobe Lightroom!
Now that I think about it, I figured I should have just named this site Frustrated Photographer instead. That’s exactly how I feel right now. But I ain’t gonna let frustration eat me up, I am going to be better at this – later. Even as Mr. Fredrickson of Up said, “Even if it kills me!” Ack! Just kidding. :-P

The hubby took me out on a date last Monday. Finally! After weeks of trying to figure out how we could squeeze that in. We took this shot when we were in Conti’s at The Fort Boni Highstreet. For some reason, we couldn’t figure out how to correct the exposure. Set in P mode, we just shot away. Resulting in a number of overexposed shots.
Now that I am trying to figure Adobe Lightroom out, I guess I should try to post process this photo. Read more »
I launched Project 365 with getting better at photography in mind. And photography of this age involves more than just taking shots, that is just, so yesterday. I have to learn to post process photos either via Photoshop or Lightroom as well. But now that my Adobe Photoshop trial version has officially expired, I am compelled to use my Adobe Lightroom software.
Here is a rookie’s attempt at processing a rather boring and overexposed shot via Adobe Lightroom. The original shot (top) was taken last July 2009 when we were at the Starfish Island in Palawan. Methinks that the processed photo (bottom) is a little too dark. You are welcome to criticize my shots. I am kind of serious about this learning photography business.
My current bedside book is The new Dare to Discipline. The same book that we gave away in our primary site, MarriageandBeyond’s 2nd anniversary. Our parenting style is essentially influenced by Dr. James Dobson. Another favorite book that has made an impact on us is The New Strong Willed Child. Parenting a toddler need not be a power struggle, you just have to let the message across, in a loving manner to your child (who does not know better) who is in charge.
Having seen the benefits for ourselves, of the principles shared in both books are enough proof that they work. Our son may be as restless as the rest of other toddlers his age, but he does know who is in charge. A word of warning though, parents do not have the right to spanking unless they have a “real relationship” with their child. This secures the child of parental love. More word on this later on my review of the book.

This is my Jeff about to kick the ball and score a goal! Woohoo! I am just so delighted that I was able to get this shot. That aggressive look on his face tells of all that adrenaline pumping in his blood making him focus on the goal and make it!
His name is now officially on the record of the football governing organization of the National Capital Region. The Marikina United FC joined today’s one day tournament held in Marikina Sports Park. The teams who played were: Marikina United FC, Claret FC A and B, MFA A and B, ESA, Corinthians FC, Hi Five and Ateneo Blue Guards.

Running late again. It was almost 12 midnight when I realized I still have not done my Project 365 entry for today. It was good that I did take some careless shots of my son this morning as he was looking at the window mesmerized over the air particles that he saw as the sun shone through our bedroom window.
