Who doesn’t want to travel? Well, taking a trip to different places bring excitement to people, count the photographers in particular. They not only get the first hand experience but the thrill of what the place offers.
Photo studios are really booming nowadays. Before, they just have this mini room with white background and a large camera that will surely daze you with its flash. Next came out studios that only develop films of 12’s, 16’s, and 32’s. As time goes by, ideas arise in making a little space in their area for people who want their ID pictures taken and just return until it has been developed.
When it comes to doing product shots, I still have a long way to go. I recently just took some product shots of Nivea sun protection products sent over at my place and I have observed that using prime lens gives me better quality pictures than the usual kit lens that came with my dslr.
If you happen to be an Apple user, than one great Podcast on Photography that you should download are those of Scott Wittenburg’s Photography 101. This is one of the things that I love watching through as I wait on my son during his Karate class.
Portraiture and Food Photography are two of my main hope to learn this 2011. But before anything else, I am in dire need to hone my basic photography know hows. I am giving myself this month to run through the videos I took of my Basic Digital Photography class with Sir James Nicolay. It was in 2009 that I took the class and after almost 2 years, I still have not gone through the videos.
Even if I have had the Adobe Photoshop software in my computer for as long as I can remember, I never had the guts to actually maximize or even learn how to use it. Admittedly, I have been careless doing product shots for lack of time. Ideally, product shots should be taken with care and thought. Given that I am but a photography hobbyist and have no decent studio to take shots of the product in, a make shift light box will do. A macro lens, I have none. But I do have a nifty macro filter which can do its job with a little post processing. Read more »
Although I have not been very eager to learn photography since I decided to slack several months ago, I cannot really say I dropped my love for it altogether. Without the luxury of time in my hands, I was able to have a look see on online tutorials when it comes to post processing via Adobe Lightroom. It was the easier software for me as opposed to the more popular Adobe Photoshop.
