247/365: A Slice of Sandy’s Pizza Garlic Chorizo
admin | September 4, 2010 | 11:11 pm | Project 365, food photography | No comments

When it comes to pizzas, I am a Sandy’s Pizza loyalist. Just because I wasn’t able to hold my horses, this is the one shot that I was able to take of the last Garlic Chorizo Sandy’s pizza I had last week.

If we would crave for something persian, our default place to go to has always been Ababu Persian Kitchen right across Xavierville. But just to satisfy our curiosity about the reviews that we have been reading about Shawarma Snack Center, we headed there after attending an event that was held around the area.

227/365: Margherita Pizza by Burgoo

My craving for Sandy’s Pizza’s margherita pizza drove me to grab the next best thing -Margherita Pizza by Burgoo, P295. It’s cheaper all right. But nothing close to how good Sandy’s Pizza make theirs. Just writing about this makes me want to drive to their Blue Ridge/White Plains branch. What’s frustrating about Sandy’s Pizza places is that they cannot accommodate a lot of patrons. And because they have the best pizza in the world, there was never an instance that the place is not packed.

This is one of the shots I took during the food event I attended a couple of weeks back – Ibayo by Barrio Fiesta. My Canon S90 was then a day old and I wasn’t yet too keen on using the manual setting. I took this shot of “Ginataang Kuhol” (snails cooked in coco milk) on Auto Mode. I am a self confessed sweet tooth and this is my runaway favorite from the Portuguese restaurant, O’sonho – chocolate ganache.

It readily took care to top our meal when we last went to O’sonho. I could easily finish one serving all by myself. Read more »

161/365: Fall off the bone ribs

Food photography has always been a frustration of mine. And as you can see, there is no way I’m getting better at it especially when I’m not using the right gadgets. I used a 10.1 MP point and shoot in this picture, which explains all the grains. I have had the slr for a year now and I confess that it can be pretty heavy to lug around with. Read more »

129/365: Porterhouse steak at Hot Rocks

While I know I suck at food photography, here I am still trying hard. But apparently, not hard enough for me to use my dslr baby Nikki for this job. I used a Sony point and shoot and color corrected it of sorts via Lightroom.

70/365: Chicken Adobo
admin | March 11, 2010 | 6:56 pm | Project 365, food photography | No comments

I cooked chicken adobo for dinner today. It has been a while since I last prepared this dish. I got the chicken marinated days back for for broiling. Changed my mind the last minute and voila! Adobo it is! I prepare my adobo the usual way and then I pour fresh milk when the sauce becomes thick. It’s yummier and creamier. :-)
