With other pizzas, I prefer the thick crust types. But with Sandy’s pizza, I never minded from day one I tried it that they don’t serve them in thick crust. I’m not sure if they cook it like one would a traditional pizza or even if they use furnace filters on their ovens. The only thing I care about is how good it is done. I am just glad that there are more Sandy’s Pizza branches now.

The picture above is the only order I appreciated. It is the Mixed BBQ Kabbab @P195. The rest of the stuff we ordered like that of the Regular Shawarma Sandwich. We did not get the “special” variant when we found out that the only difference between the two is the size. We were there for a taste test, anyway. Nothing special about their shawarma. Their garlic sauce even tasted more of a regular mayonnaise than that of a real persian garlic sauce. Everyone on the table agreed. Ababu it is still, hands down.

The one good thing that I liked about Shawarma Snack Center is the fact that we can stay in an enclosed area where cigars are not allowed. As opposed to Ababu which has always been an open area. But it could be just us or maybe we ordered the wrong dishes. Just in case you’d like to try Shawarma Snack Center for yourselves, here’s their address.

My craving for Sandy’s Pizza’s margherita pizza drove me to grab the next best thing -Margherita Pizza by Burgoo, P295. It’s cheaper all right. But nothing close to how good Sandy’s Pizza make theirs. Just writing about this makes me want to drive to their Blue Ridge/White Plains branch. What’s frustrating about Sandy’s Pizza places is that they cannot accommodate a lot of patrons. And because they have the best pizza in the world, there was never an instance that the place is not packed.

I’m happy to hear from the hubby that he has seen another Sandy’s Pizza crib along J.P. Rizal in Makati. If they keep at the quality of pizzas they serve, they are bound to multiply, given that the team behind the company will do good at the accounting jobs department. I hope they do and open up another pizza crib close to our place.

Sweet hubby escorted me to The New Pantene’s Amazing Hair Gala launch tonight held at the Isla Ballroom in Edsa Shangri-la Hotel.  Now, I know I haven’t been much on non-organic shampoos. But I’ll be willing to give this “New Pantene” a shot and even head on to the 14 day commitment to hair transformation.

As I did my assignment, I recently read that there is a dangerous amount of sls in products and there is a safe percentage of sorts that hopefully brands like Pantene are making sure they adhere strictly to. I’m sure big brands will not compromise their good names. This is exactly why I chose to support by attending the gala. I could have stayed home and not have to tread through the rush hour traffic in between steel buildings in Ortigas. I’m sure to post a review of this New Pantene via my beauty blog, KikayCorner.net.   Watch out for that after 14 days.

Korean food is in the list of our favorite dishes. This is what I had for dinner today, Monday, our fam day out. We loaded up on steaks at Everything at Steak earlier during lunch time. As opposed to the latter’s homey atmosphere, our dinner did not boast of classy Baldwin hardwares or whatnot, but twas good nonetheless. If there is anything I have to get every so often is a good kimchi fix. Just thinking about it makes me salivate. It’s sweet that we have a good korean mart nearby where I could have a regular dose. This shot was taken using my nifty Canon s90.

This is one of the shots I took during the food event I attended a couple of weeks back – Ibayo by Barrio Fiesta. My Canon S90 was then a day old and I wasn’t yet too keen on using the manual setting. I took this shot of “Ginataang Kuhol” (snails cooked in coco milk) on Auto Mode. Fair shot for a point and shoot, right? No wonder this baby is being sold in the malls for ten grand more than I had bought my entry level Nikon dslr last year.

When I started out this Project 365 early this year, the plan was to stick to it. Obviously, at the rate I’m going, I’m failing. But as you may have noticed, I am still sticking to the fraction as it should. Basically, because I still plan to fill in the missed dates. Never mind if I have to share crappy photos in the process. More than just sharing the better photos from my pile, I also hope to document things on a daily basis. It’s a good thing, my photos are time stamped. And yes, I take photos everyday. It’s like my brain is trained to go grab my cam to capture just about anything. I guess I should be using my document management skills even in this photography project. Just to be sure I’ll do better at it from here on out.

These photos were two of the first shots that I took as soon as I got hold of my S90. I haven’t gotten a name for it yet.  It was not just Ken Rockwell who bombarded its Canon s90 page with all the superlatives. But I also found a handful of sites that have sworn to it being even comparable or better than a GF1! An entry level Lumix dslr, no less.

Sure, there can be disadvantages. Like its zoom that starts at f/2 at the wide end, which is great for a point and shoot. But it does get slower at the long end, f/4.9. But then again, it is a point and shoot. A real good one at that. No speedlight attachment. But it does perform great in low light settings.

These shots were both taken using the Auto mode (no post processing). Too new to tinker with the manual settings. I hope to get around to doing that soon.

And did I tell you about Canon S90′s two direct control rings?! No other point and shoot has that and even DSLRs in the market only have one. What are they for, you ask? These are the convenient feature that allows for the user to set the camera instantly. I can program the ring as I want. Like I can program the ring around the lens as exposure compensation and the back ring as ISO or aperture and shutter speed, respectively. Whichever pleases me. It’s just like using a real dslr. It’s just fun that a camera with such features does not have to come in a dorky package.

I think it is safe to say that it just might take Canon quite a while to improve on this model significantly. It’s a plus that I was able to get this for way cheaper than the regular mall price. I saw its mall price ranging from P28,000+ to P32,000+. It is the Best Buy! Got it from DBGadgets.

The Magyar Restaurant in Paseo de Magallanes is definitely one of the yummiests finds I’ve had in months. Beyond Hungarian sausages, there was nothing else Hungarian I knew about before I visited them for the first time last month. One of the things that I loved about Magyar Restaurant is their unique scrapbook menu. Each page will transport you to Hungary and its culture. Don’t be fooled by its seemingly understated furnishings with patio furniture cushions, an overall plain looking resto, even. They only serve authentic hungarian dishes which are delish! Don’t forget to order Szekely (pork and sauerkraut) Goulash! My newest favorite soup!

It has been over a month since I started cultivating wheatberries. I failed on my first attempt and my lack of having green thumbs got the best of me (again)!But never say die. So dead as they are, I scooped out 1/4c. of fresh, brand new wheatgrass seeds and started over. I have since juiced my wheatgrass twice and I’m currently on my third and fourth trays.

Wheatgrass juice is now making waves of making it to the list of Superfoods. It is so good that it might as well replace prenatal vitamins because of cholorophyll and its being rich on iron content. But truth be told, it can be a little inconvenient for me, as low maintenance as it may seem. I guess after this attempt, I’d go get myself a supplier of wheatgrass supplement instead.

It readily took care to top our meal when we last went to O’sonho. I could easily finish one serving all by myself. But of course that would mean abs workout cannot wait anymore. Else I’d show like I’m on my second trimester of pregnancy or something.
